Dr. Michael Gray earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania. Dr. Gray spent a significant part of his career as the Director of Outpatient Services for a community mental health center in Philadelphia. There he worked with individuals and families impacted by trauma who struggled with a broad range of concerns and challenges including depression and anxiety, PTSD and substance use issues.
Dr. Gray utilizes an eclectic person-centered approach to therapy drawing on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Existential psychotherapy.
Clinical areas of interest include LGBTQ issues, career and life transitions, personal growth and creativity, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Dr. Gray also provides clinical supervision to doctoral students in training and is associated with the clinical psychology doctoral program at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Gray resides with his partner and his dog Franklin in Philadelphia,PA.
